About Milly Dawson, M.S.

I write for major newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, Newsweek, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Woman's Day and many others. Both my nonfiction books—Over Here It's Different: Carolina's Story (Macmillan, 1993) and Beauty Lab (Silver Moon Press, 1997)— received many positive reviews. Over Here It's Different also won a commendation from the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs. I partner with experts on both articles and books.

My regular topics include health, wellness, medicine and business. I’ve also written a great deal about consumer technologies. I cover medical and business conferences for general readers and professional audiences.

As a corporate communicator, I serve businesses ranging from sole practitioners to huge firms. My client list includes Marriott, Greater Homes, Sodexho and Boardroom Reports. I have also worked for government agencies and for nonprofits including The American Lung Association, New Hope Center for Grieving Children and Mustard Seed Communities.

While senior editor for public affairs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, I worked on annual reports, brochures and newsletters for internal and external audiences.

As a Foreign Service Officer (FSO) for the US Information Agency, I served overseas and wrote speeches for the first President George Bush. I draft speeches and presentations for corporate executives.

I have New York public relations agency experience. I can help PR agencies with press releases, biographies, brochures, etc. I adapt my writing to suit the different demands of print and electronic media.
